This is my latest Facebook wall-to-wall with one of my dearest Lima (and life) friends, Leia. She first recounted a funny anecdote relating to a recent conversation we had about confusion and small, frequent moments of defeat that, now, make us laugh more than cry:
LEIA FERRARI: also i forgot to tell you i went to metro yesterday and wanted bananas but left without them because something confusing was going on in the weighing section and i didn't know what to do. la vida peruana.. still figuring it out.
JULIA OSCHWALD: love the banana story. love the vida peruana, including all its little moments of struggle, defeat, ignorance, embarrassment, sadness--because more often than not, they lead to a later sense of accomplishment, love, discovery, learning, laughter, and growth. we are so blessed!
